Why choose Salerno for your events

Why choose Salerno for your events

The new infrastructures that have sprung up in recent years attest to the fact that Salerno is increasingly becoming an ideal destination for travelers of all kinds.

Reaching Salerno and the two Coasts has never been easier:

To the North the Maritime Station and Connections by Sea.

Thanks to the redesign of the seafront, the maritime station-designed by architect Zaha Hadid-that connects the port with the Seafront through Freedom Square, Salerno has made itself ready to receive a full-bodied cruise flow, and increase port tourism.

To the south the Salerno-Pontecagnano International Airport “Amalfi Coast”

Another demonstration of the proclaimed desire to position itself as a destination for international tourism is the reopening of Salerno’s new airport.

Located 14 kilometers south of the city, the airport has attracted the interest of several international airlines since its opening, with numbers destined to grow both in terms of commercial traffic and the number of companies and destinations interested in the new airport.

In January 2025 alone, it recorded the transit of 20,608 passengers, ranking 28th in Italy.

The airport’s special feature is its strategic location, making it an ideal choice for tourists heading to the Amalfi Coast, Cilento, and the region’s many attractions.

In 2024, the year of the reopening, relatively few companies flew to and from Salerno airport, as if to “test the waters”

This year, however, the number of carriers (and routes served) is significantly higher.

British Airways will connect Salerno and London-Gatwick Airport.

British low-cost Jet2 the Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport with Manchester and Birmingham.

Vueling will connect Salerno to Paris, and Salerno to Barcelona

Other airlines that will fly to Salerno are:

easyJet (to and from Basel, Berlin, Geneva, London-Gatwick and Milan-Malpensa),

Ryanair (Brussels, London-Stansted, Milan-Bergamo, Turin and Vienna)

Wizz Air (Tirana, Sofia, Katowice, Bucharest and Budapest)

Volotea (to/from Catania, Verona, Marseille and Nantes)

In the face of such and ever-growing interest, expansion projects seem to become necessary: and so it is that by 2027 a new terminal, maintenance hangar and fire station will be ready, and by 2028, 20 check-ins and 5 gates.
